NOTE: This is for a two page outline and a 5 page paper.
Module/Week 4, you will write a 1 to 2-page outline for the Final Paper in Microsoft Word. The Final Paper (due week 7) is a 3 to 5-page report on a topic that is related to aviation safety (either on the ground or in the air). The outline must introduce the topic that the student is writing about for the final paper (please review the Final Paper instructions too!). The outline will include a title page, the outline, and a reference page (min 3 references, not including the bible). Each main point should include 2-3 sub-topics to help support each main topic. Each of the main points/sub-main points will be followed with at least a sentence or two to describe the topic and a brief a conclusion (include personal/biblical view) at the end of the outline. The goal is for the reader of the outline to gather a basic comprehensive idea of where the paper will go. The student will not use the Colgan Air Flight 3407 and Alaska Airlines Flight 261 crashes as main topics or supporting topics (Week 5 PowerPoint Presentation assignment).
Format: Follow current APA edition format to include double spaced, 12-font, New Times Roman font. While there is no specific template for this assignment, however there are several types of outlines commonly used, for example there are full sentence outlines, decimal outlines and alphanumeric outlines to name a few. Feel free to use the LU Academic Success Center: Writing Aids or the Liberty University Online Writing Center for the current APA guidance and writing.
The student will write a final paper with a 3 to 5-page body on a topic that is related to aviation safety (either on the ground or in the air). This is not an aircraft accident analysis and/or review paper. However, the student may use aircraft accidents as supporting data, but not as main topics. Use caution if topics from material used in the Book Report Assignment are used (i.e. PAVE, IMSAFE, etc.), the final paper should not be a “larger” version of the book report, but rather a critical analysis of the topic chosen. The goal is to explore, research, critically think, and present a topic that the student found interesting in the course material.
The paper must be written in Microsoft Word, adhere to current APA format with double spaced, 12-font, New Times Roman, include a title page, and a reference page. It must cite at least 3 academic resources (books, journals, articles, etc.), plus the Bible. It is highly encouraged to find additional resources/references outside what has been used in this class already. The student will be allowed flexibility if topics are changed from the outline due to professor input, new research conducted, and/or the student wants to include different information. Within the paper, the student will present a biblical verse/personal viewpoint to the reader. The student will not use the Colgan Air Flight 3407 and Alaska Airlines Flight 261 crashes as main topics or supporting topics (Week 5 PowerPoint Presentation assignment). For more information on Aviation Safety read this:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aviation_safety
