What is a Constitution

In your own words, what is the Constitution? what does it say about the rights of people? Rather than taking on the whole landscape, choose four “rights” and give specific evidence that it is a right and from where this right emanates. Be sure what you choose truly addresses granting rights to the people specifically and not rights that you think are implied by the wording. How would you characterize the overall position of the perspective of the current United States Supreme Court (USSC)?

(A MINIMUM OF 125 WORDS or MORE) CLASSMATE’S POST The Constitution, for me is a document that outlines certain liberties we have in this country and the ones that we do not. The constitution is an important document because helps the judicial system determine what is unconstitutional and what is not. It is the law of the land.

The first ten amendments of the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights and that is where you can find all the rights that we have as Americans. Some examples include the right to bear arms, the right to assembly, speech, press, etc. These rights are clearly defined, and you cannot make assumptions because they are clearly written out in the Constitution. My overall perspective of the supreme court is that they are important to uphold the constitution, and for every law and amendment that is not in “plain English” is carefully thought of and interpretive. It is important as the supreme court helps with the checks and balances.
