Social Media Blog
Review a social media blog and examine it for fallacious reasoning. Identify at least two examples of fallacies that we have discussed in class within the selected blog. Record the fallacious quotes from the blog, and explain what type of fallacy you believe they are. For follow-up discussion, decide whether or not you agree or disagree with your classmates and explain why. Your response should be based on the fallacy only, not the content of the selected blog.
Include a citation for the source you use.

October 24 is “Workers Demand a Raise Day”
Statement with Fallacy: “President Obama and other politicians have not been helpful in increasing workers’ paychecks.”
Fallacy: Hasty generalization
I felt that the fallacy used in this statement was hasty generalization. There was not any evidence or anything substantial to support the statement. The blog stated that The Baltimore Workers Assembly created “Workers Demand a Raise Day” to demand that the minimum wage be raised to $15 an hour. While the movement itself is sincere, the statement presented does not necessarily rely on facts, or statistics to prove the point. The statement is only backed by their emotion and their belief that there is not enough being done to raise the minimum wage let alone that it is solely the Presidents or other politician’s faults(Ford, 2013).
