(Note: Unconstitutional means that the Plaintiff believed that the law was passed by congress, but congress did not have the authority under the U.S. Constitution to make a law pertaining to the subject matter. The U.S. Supreme Court declared the act constitutional which means that the court found in the constitution that the U.S. Congress did have the authority to pass a law in this area.) Whenever the Supreme Court declares a law/act constitutional, they must say which part of the constitution gave congress the authority.In your post, you must tell who the plaintiff was the in the case AND the part/section of the U.S. Constitution that gave the U.S. Congress the authority to pass the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
