A Democratic Society

“…if one of the primary purposes of education is to teach young people the skills, knowledge, and critical awareness to become productive members of a diverse and democratic society, a broadly conceptualize multicultural education can have a decisive influence.” Textbook page 338.What steps do you think schools can or should take to promote our democracy in today’s very diverse country?Food festivals and celebrating a cultural holiday will not be accepted as an answer. Those are examples of tokenism to make the dominant culture feel like they are doing something.
