Essay 3 – A Doll House
When Ibsen’s play was written and performed, it was extremely controversial, certainly more than it would be today even though it would not be considered tame. Discuss what is in the play that caused it to be so explosive. Be sure to quote from the text and follow the Essay Guidelines we have discussed.

 ALWAYS quote from the source text but do not use long quotes.
 ALWAYS have beginning and ending quotation marks when quoting.
 ALWAYS cite quotes correctly, according to MLA format.
 ALWAYS indent paragraphs 5 spaces.
ITALICS are for: book titles, names of plays, names of magazines, etc.
QUOTATION MARKS are for short stories, poems and other short works.
