This paper is intended to describe an engineer’s impact on society at large, a desired learning outcome of both the college of engineering and ABET. Students will explore, in depth, the education and engineering career of one scholar. This scholar can be from the student’s discipline or another of their choosing but must be within the field of engineering. The paper should be expository in its format and should have an unbiased synthesis of the topic. Expository writing includes a thesis (abstract) statement, develops an idea fully, and uses evidence to support claims.

Address the following prompt:

Describe how the technological advances of your chosen engineer has impacted society. Include an exploration of their early life and education, the major advances or shortcoming of the engineer, how the work of the engineer moved the field or society, and why you chose the engineer.

The paper needs to include the following:
* Title of the Paper
* Abstract
* Introduction
* Main Results (this is the majority of your research)
* Conclusion
* References

Single column format, double-spaced, minimum five (5) pages and not to exceed six (6) pages. MS Word Document or PDF.

You may include photos, charts, graphs, tables, and other relevant data. These must be identified and described and referenced in your discussion.
