Your second writing assignment, an Analysis of an Interview of a Domestic Violence Practice Agency is due on Sunday of Week 7.
You are to contact and conduct an interview of a community based domestic violence practitioner:
The selected practitioner may be a worker at a public agency such as Child Welfare Services, Probation or local law enforcement; or the selected practitioner may be from a community based organization such as a domestic violence shelter, counseling center or a medical facility.
If you are on military assignment, you will locate instructions defining domestic violence practitioners available on deployment, in the Course Information section.
The selected practitioner may focus on victims or perpetrators of violence.
You are to visit the agency, interview the practitioner, and collect the following information:
The agency’s mission statement, client population, services provided, and whether it is public, non-profit or for-profit.
The different program components or services provided by the agency.
The role and experience of the practitioner, i.e. what are the practitioner’s job duties, what type of academic and agency training the practitioner has gone through, legal/ethical considerations/limitations the practitioner must work with a discussion of any personal/professional impacts the worker is experiencing stemming from working in domestic violence
You are to write a ten page, APA formatted analysis of the interview:
The paper will summarize and describe the different information collected.
The paper will include an analysis of the information collected, the analysis must include at least eight different citations -these may be the text book plus seven peer reviewed readings; discuss how the different information collected is reflected in the readings; please refer to the Course Information section for information on locating journal articles that you can apply to your discussion of the interview.
