These are the corrections that need to be done.

Fieldwork- Fieldwork often involves research. If the answers to these question are not obvious…you may have to go hunt them down.

This exercise depends on you being specific to a can of Coke, or a specific Coke product made somewhere in the world. We don’t want broad, we want to zoom in on a specific can or place.

#1 – Where did the ingredients come from? -1/2

#2 – Who made the can of Coke you are examining? What is their life like? -1/2

#3 – Focus in on one place Coke is made. What is the impact of Coke there? What is the impact where is it consumed?-1/2

#4 – Has it affected people in the community differently depending on their age, gender, or class? Are you sure, look again. -1/2

#5 – What are the real social costs of producing a can of Coke – in terms of water, power systems, sewage treatment, pollution, garbage disposal, and roads for transportation? Who pays for those costs? -1/2

#6 – What is the environmental impact? Be specific. -1/2

Homework- Great discussion here! Poverty and violence are abundant in the globalized world we are connected to today. Thinking it’s not going to come knocking on our door is naive at best. It’s happened before, right? Comparing these two times, what sorts of things could we use to describe and understand the nature of immigration in America? This is great, you just need to seal it up. A few more sentences at the end summarizing your comparisons clearly would help. -2
