Business Task
In each module, you will have read a series of pertinent material. The assignment is to determine which parts of the readings you believe to be the most important (i.e., relevant, interesting, controversial, etc.), and to show precisely how the concepts and issues apply at (or pertain to) the agency under analysis that was identified in your Agency Selection Report.
Final papers are to be highly explanatory in that they document the points (or contentions) made regarding the agency (based on journal articles, books, public records, published accounts, and interviews with agency personnel, etc.) and carefully link them with the assigned readings and discussions.
Final papers are to be well-written and organized.
The paper must be at least 2000 words long and no longer than 3000 words. The word count does not include the reference page, title page, or an optional abstract.
The paper must have at least 12 authoritative references in your reference list to meet the minimum requirements. At least 10 authoritative references must have a date after or in the year 2001. There is a 5-point deduction for each missing authoritative reference.
Properly constructed quotations and referencing are mandatory and need to follow APA format.
You should support your arguments using some of the assigned readings, along with additional library sources. The majority of sources must be from those that were not directly provided in class. Properly cited government reports are allowable.
When conducting library research, you must use legitimate, authoritative sources of information: scholarly books, academic journals, and government sources only. No Wikipedia, no news sites, no tech sites, no blog sites, etc.
Please edit your paper. In the days leading up to the deadline, you should edit your paper repeatedly– have a friend or classmate read through your paper to look for mistakes. There are absolutely no excuses for submitting papers with poor citations, typos, grammatical errors, illogical flow issues, etc. These are mistakes that you should be able to identify or make an appointment with the University’s writing center. You could have a brilliant paper and still receive a poor grade for not editing it well. By the same token, you could have a perfectly edited paper and get a low grade for meager substance. Be sure your paper includes a quality argument that is based on quality readings and ensures it is well edited. Finally, be sure to demonstrate: a) your understanding of the subject you are writing about; b) good writing skills, and c) ability to craft good arguments.
Remember, your professor is available to help you if you have any problems. Worrying too much about a problem can be counter-productive; so, you are much better off discussing your problems with the professor.
