as a first step, you will write the outline and the Introduction.
Review carefully this outline for an argument about mandating school uniforms.
Each assertion will begin a paragraph. Each is centered on a key term. Each term will be amplified and then particularized. In addition, I have indicated where which articles will help me make my case (in green).

OUTLINE FOR MY PAPER
THESIS: School uniforms should be required for all public-school students.
 First, school uniforms should be required because they create school pride.

 Most importantly, school uniforms should be required because they cut down on the development of cliques that can hurt students emotionally.

Just like the argument we wrote before, each assertion is parallel; each has a key term; each is ranked to close with what I think is my strongest argument.
Once you have that, you are ready to write a basic functional introduction that identifies the document, offers the thesis for the paper, and indicates how the paper will be organized.

The capstone project will be a researched argument that looks at whether distance learning is an effective method for education. four articles. Those four articles must each be part of your paper.
. You will decide what side of the argument you want to defend. This will be your THESIS. You have two choices:
1) Distance learning is effective.
2) Distance learning is not effective.
PICK ONE AND THEN YOU NEED TO SET UP YOUR ARGUMENT
Review your readings and think about your own experiences. You are a professional student. Your education has been dramatically impacted by distance learning. You have much to say about the topic. You need lots of reasons why you believe what you believe and then pick 3!!!
The eventual project will be five paragraphs (about 1400 working words altogether):
a) a functional introduction that sets up the project
b) 3 standard AAPR body paragraphs that each examine one reason why you believe what you are arguing
c) a functional conclusion in which you offer a solution to the controversy over distance learning
Each body paragraph will have a key term that needs to be amplified and then particularized. The only difference is that this time you will particularize using the sources as well as your own experience.

THIS WILL BE A BASIC AAPR FORMAT. NOTHING NEW. WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED, EACH PARAGRAPH WILL BE A BASIC 3.2 PARAGRAPH. EVERY WORD WORKING, EVERY SENTENCE PROOFED.
EACH PARAGRAPH WILL BEGIN WITH AN ASSERTION.
THEN YOU WILL AMPLIFY THAT KEY TERM–TAKE A SENTENCE OR TWO OR THREE TO EXPLAIN THE IMPORTANCE OF YOUR KEY TERM.
THEN YOU WILL PARTULATIZE THAT KEY TERM BY APPLYING THAT KEY TERM TO THE TOPIC DISTANCE LEARNING, STUDENTS, TEACHER, EDUCATION
THEN YOU WILL CLOSE THE PARAGRAPH WITH A REASSERTION.
WHAT WE ARE ADDING TO THE BASIC AAPR IN THIS UNIT WILL BE SOURCES.
THE FOUR SOURCES WILL BE PART OF EACH PARAGRAPH?S PARTICULIZATION.
So, REVIEW each of THE SOURCES. LOCATE A SENTENCE QUOTE FROM EACH THAT CAN HELP MAKE YOUR ARGUMENT. EACH OF THE FOUR ARTICLES NEEDS TO BE USED ONCE IN YOUR BODY PARAGRAPHS

Once you have presented your argument�three 3.2. body paragraphs each with a key term, amplified, and particularized with the four sources�you are ready now for the conclusion. We want to use the conclusion, not just throw it away on some high school rehash of an argument.
++ You have just taken a stand on a controversial issue: you have argued three reasons in favor of or against the place of technology and distance learning in education. You have argued either that online learning is effective or that it is not effective.
But because you are a professional student with lots of expertise and researcher who has done some investigation into the idea and because you are a mature and responsible adult, you understand you are not right in whatever you have argued.
The conclusion gives you a chance to propose a solution, some kind of middle ground way in which the best of both systems of education can be followed in a practical and doable way. How might a school system work in ways that preserve the best of the in-class experience with the efficiency and accessibility of technology? You can use primary grades, high school, college, technical schools, graduate schools�any level of education. You can take a specific class, like a science class or an art, to show us how your idea might work. Don�t forget to think about how kids will react, parents, teachers; how grades will be determined; don�t forget practical concerns like time and money. Show us that you can apply what you have learned in a practical and professional way. This should come from you, not the sources. How would you keep everyone happy??? Technology is not going away and as you have learned technology is not a perfect solution�.so what is the solution???

After that, don�t forget to provide your Works Cited page. You have used all four sources you read for the Annotated Bibliography project. List them alphabetically.
