CLASS DIAGRAMMING
thread a final ‘diagramming’ of this class as you understand it. What I mean by this:
Using up to two 8.5×11 pages, I want you to somehow creatively ‘diagram’ connections between the topics we’ve been reading and discussing as if you were prepping a ‘cheat sheet’ for what would (in a normal semester) be an oral exam that day. (For future use: cramming every note using 3 point font is actually the least effective way of preparing for such things!) How do core authors relate to each other? How about concepts that flow through them? Are there current events or other things that you might use to illustrate their points?
As for how ‘legible’ or ‘complete’ these should be, imagine that someone guest-reviewing this class would look at these. They should have a general idea of what you are saying — or, at the very least, have an idea of what questions they might ask you to clarify your diagrams. That is, oversimple three-circle-Venn-diagrams are not enough. By the same token, you shouldn’t have to supply 1500 words of typed text, although text is allowed.
I’ll be evaluating these based on the levels of detail involved, the quality of insights you provide, creativity, and overall demonstration of understanding of core concepts.
