Colonialism in Africa

Using Kevin Dunn’s “Lights…Camera…Africa: Images of Africa and Africans in Western Popular Films of the 1930s” (posted under Week 3 under Modules) and the films “King Solomon’s Mines” (link posted under Week 3 in the course syllabus) and “Mr. Bones” (link posted under Week 4 in the course syllabus), discuss the roles that film played in furthering the goals and objectives of colonialism in Africa. In you analysis, focus on how Africans (as subjects/victims of colonialism) and Europeans (as perpetrators/beneficiaries of colonialism) are portrayed in the 2 films, and frame your paper on the basis of the arguments advanced by Kevin Dunn in the reading cited above.
