followed by an evidence/data/impact statement supported by current peer-reviewed source, that identifies the significance of the problem (who is impacted, how many are hurt, what is the unacceptable outcome/consequences of the unknown).

Purpose
Make the connection between the research problem and gap
Quantitative studies, describe two or more factors (variables) and relation to the identified gap or problem.
