1. When thinking about which data analysis would best align to my study’s hypotheses and data collection, I need to think about the purpose of the study. The purpose of my study is to determine if there is a difference in assessment grade for students who receive PBL and those who do not. According to Allen (2017), with an analysis of variance (ANOVA), I can test the results of the assessment to see if there are any differences between the groups. To use ANOVA needs that both descriptive and inferential statistics will be use. The descriptive statistics that will be used are measurements of central tendency and variability such as means and standard deviation of ELA scores. The inferential statistics is the data for the one-way ANOVA, which will be used to determine statistical significance or if there is a difference in the means of each group.

2. This week I have learned about data analysis and summary section of chapter 3. As mentioned in the text this section needs to include a detailed narrative of the processes or statistical methods that are being used for analysis or the primary data being used in my research study. In this section I also need to ensure the proposed method is clear and appropriate for the type of research design and ensure that my data analysis and summary portions provide sufficient enough detail. Furthermore, in the summary section I will provide a description of the key elements that were presented in Chapter 3. Importantly, the summary in Chapter 3 will provide information that helps to transition to chapter 4.
