Early Childhood Education Assignment

If you were an Early Childhood Education (i.e. Preschool) Teacher, how would you make use of Piaget’s and Vygotsky’s theories of cognitive development to help your students develop well? Describe one learning activity you would use and how it fits in with Piaget, Vygotsky, or both.

An assignment that earns a high score will:

Identify which type of preschool you would work at (your choices are the ECE types described in the textbook)
Describe the learning activity
State the goal(s) of that activity (i.e. what you would like your students to learn)
Identify what or who the students would interact with
Explicitly link the elements of your learning activity to the principles of Piaget’s and/or Vygotsky’s theory/theories
Be turned in on time
Please remember that this assignment goes with chapter 4, and therefore should apply to 3-6 year-olds only.
