film analysis
“The final essay consists of a film/historical sources analysis. In a 4-6 page paper, you will compare the cinematic version of a specific important event/figure in American history with both primary and secondary historical sources. A minimum of two primary sources covered in the class readings, as well as a minimum of two outside sources. Make sure your outside sources are from a reliable, authoritative publication. Your paper should include a comparative analysis of the film and the primary/secondary historical sources. The suggested organization of the paper is as follows: Introduction; Historical context/background; comparative analysis of the film and historical sources; Conclusion.
Please use your preferred citation style (MLA, Chicago Style). Avoid using block quotations (this is a quote that is longer than three lines).”
The essay will be based on the 2016 film called “Hidden Figures” and the essay requires 2 of the 4 sources for the essay to be from the covered class readings and I will attach the sources from class below: the 3 books for this class were
Takaki, Ronald. A different mirror: A history of multicultural America. New York: Little, Brown & Co., 1993.
