SOCI 1002D
Film Assignment – Due February 25 by Midnight (12AM, Feb 26)
Worth 30%
This assignment is a means of assessing your ability to review and critique a body of work. We will
watch the film, The Yes Men Fix the World, in class on February 4th. You will then be required to
produce a review of the film that is four to six pages long, and includes references to the textbook
or other courses readings.
Your film review should answer the following questions:
• What was the film about?
• How did the film use comedy as a means of social critique?
• Did it do this well?
• What could the film have done better?
As this is a review, you should make sure to come to some sort of conclusion about the film. In
other words, make sure to take some sort of position as to your opinion on it—do not simply
describe it.
