Investment Book Summary
Part of this course involves reading an investment-related book and write a summary of the book. The report will provide an opportunity for you to critique the book and comment on how it helps you with your own investment and portfolio management work.
1) Introduction paragraph. In this paragraph, you will briefly describe the book: its author(s), year of publication, and the purpose of writing this book.
2) A summary of every chapter in the book. For each of these chapters, you will write a paragraph–consisting of 3 to 5 sentence–that summarizes the most important points of the chapter. As much as you can, you should use your own words to write his report. If you have to quote the book, use quotation marks [“ …“]. Seventy percent of the assignment grade is based on this part of your report.
3) Conclusion paragraph, in which you discuss what you’ve learned from having read this book. Some of the questions you may want to address may include:
⦁ Is the book useful? Why do you think it’s useful? Give some examples to support your contention.
⦁ In what way you agree with the author(s)? In what way you disagree with the author(s)?
⦁ How can you make use of what you’ve learned to implement your investment and retirement programs?
