Literature Review

Assess the topic by reviewing professional journal articles ( at least 3) on the topic, with
emphasis on cultural awareness. For instance, if you are interested in children with disabilities
and the context for child maltreatment, you could look at literature on the prevalence of
maltreatment among children with disabilities, the intersection of interpersonal trauma that leads
to a disability, adjustment to disability following interpersonal violence, etc.; if you are interested
in LGBTQ teens, you could look at the intersection of interpersonal violence (home and
community) during the coming out process.
When writing your Review assess the following questions as a guideline.
1. Thorough description of your chosen topic
2. A brief description of each of the three sources
3. What each source states about the topic across diversity dimensions
4. What interventions/ support each source promotes
5. What evidence each source includes
