The goal of this assignment is to identify and discuss two (2) important environmental issues that are being discussed in relation to the upcoming Canadian federal election. Each student (working individually) should conduct a scan of at least five (5) different Canadian news media sources (these can be national, provincial, regional or local) and identify a minimum of eight (8) relevant articles. Also, look at the party platforms for each of the five (5) main parties (Liberals, Conservatives, NDP, Greens and Bloc Quebecois). From the news articles and party platforms, pick out two (2) important environmental issues to write about. It is important to recognize that different media sources will portray the same issue differently, depending on their provenance and target readership.
