Music Concert Review paper

During the semester you will be required either to attend one of the Indian music concerts in Edmonton that the instructor will tell you about or one or two musical pieces will be given to write a musical review. The concert review that you turn in should not be a summary of the event or a playlist per se. It should, instead, actively engage with the major themes and theoretical issues raised by our readings and classroom conversations. You will examine the concert as a kind of cultural practice. Further details will be discussed in the class. Concert reviews should be at least 4 pages in length. Total 15% marks are allocated to Concert review. Reviews that do not respect the word limits set above will be downgraded by one full point on the letter grading scale (i.e. from A to A-, from A- to B+, etc.). Likewise, unjustified late submissions will be penalized by one full point on the letter grading scale. Please submit your review in hard copy.
