GUIDELINES
You are welcome to open these questions and read or copy them and write offline. I would recommend doing so. You are permitted only one submission to each folder. These are not questions that can be well thought out and answered in just one sitting as this test is worth multiple modules and 215 points. “A” papers are rarely less than 500 words. You can do the questions in any order.
TURN IT IN IS ENABLED. BE SURE TO CITE ANY QUOTE, PARAPHRASE OR SUMMARY, HOWEVER SMALL. Plagiarism will disqualify the essay and be graded as ‘0’

Essay A: Story Structure ( 70 pts)
We have earlier considered the triangular nature of Narrative structure which also applies in amended or skewed form in most short stories. In this essay you will deal primarily with the other elements of story which you are to consider as noted below. ( You may wish to again consult Module 21’s presentation on that subject if you need a review of these terms. You were to previously view that presentation.)
To complete this essay:
Choose one short story from Module 21. Choose a story you feel has a satisfying ending.
Regarding that story, and using your own words in a => 500 word essay ( not list) form, clarify all the following with particular attention and development to item 6.
Explain the setting of the story describing its time, place and atmosphere.
3. Describe two principal characters noting their physical, emotional, psychological and social attributes. If any such aspect is excluded from the story, explain the effect of its absence.
4. Identify the main conflict of the story and the climax (not the outcome )
5. How does the story you chose differ in terms of CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT from the stories you read in 1001 Nights.
5. How does the story you chose differ from the myths you read.
6. Discuss the outcome of the story you chose and argue which of the above elements contributes the most to what you regard as a satisfactory resolution and conclusion. This should be your largest section of the essay.
