Your course project is more than just an assignment or exercise. It is an opportunity for you to focus on a practical Information Technology situation or problem that affects the business where you work, your personal situation, or a goal you want to achieve. You have an opportunity to realistically improve a situation….so, think seriously about what topic would best benefit you!
Course Project Objective

The project is the single most important assignment for the course. In the project, you will expend some good energy to bring together material to convey your comprehension of course topics, issues, concepts or otherwise. Please be sure that your project has application to the course and is a serious attempt to demonstrate your course learning to a practical situation or problem or even research. If you do not have access to a practical situation, you may create one or research an area appropriate to a series of concepts as presented in one or more chapters.
As an idea of what you might do, look over the list below.
Project management of a system change in a medium sized business.
Development of a Customer Relationship Management system application.
Development of an Enterprise Resource Planning system application.
The development and application of a database (for inventory or customers).
Use of information systems in a health care setting.**
Value of B2C applications in education.
Assessing the value of information technology to supply chain management.
Information protection in government agencies.
A paper which described how an organization took a telecommunications problem and addressed it through the use of modems and multiplexers. The organization’s data processing environment was described in a way, which tied together many text aspects of hardware and software.
Ethics and the sharing of information across the medical industry.
Cost/benefit results of outsourcing (select a specific industry or business).
As you can see, there is great potential across a diversity of areas. Your work should convince your reader or reviewer that you have a good grasp not only of the topic, but the underlying course concepts as well. The project, research paper or narration is due as its own assignment at the course conclusion. It is strongly urged that you submit any exhibits, appendices, etc. as part of the written effort. If you still encounter problems, survey the questions or various summary points in the text. You might find some idea that is worth exploring. Of course, you certainly may choose something much further along in the text. Your idea may involve written efforts or maybe some ‘hands-on’ experience with information technology. Touring some computer facility or having some lengthy discussions with staff involved in information processing are also possibilities.

Final Project Instructions
Since this is your final paper, the quality expectations are higher than previous essays. More specifically, the content should reflect a concise logical flow of information, include supporting discussions or contrasting views (as appropriate), reflect a high level of topic knowledge, include clear and appropriate use of IT terminology, concepts, and applications, and include concise conclusions and/or recommendations, the Research and Library Tips resources will assist you in successfully completing this assignment.
Your assignment is expected to be no less than 1000 -1250 words, not including cover page and resources and use 1.5 line spacing. It should be well written and organized, using proper sentence structure and spellchecked. Also, please cite any and all sources correctly so that your academic integrity is not called into question.
