NICU Case

This case examines clinical processes, systems, and controls associated with administering medications. Sandy Payne (her point of view is presented in the case) is a VP of administration. She believes there is room for improvement at her hospital. Payne would like to utilize her knowledge of process modeling and control analysis.

Part 1.

Prepare a Diagram describing the structure of the clinical systems and the processes Payne observed and augmented in order to produce a well-designed clinical process that helped identify strengths and deficiencies of controls in place.

Part 2.

Please prepare a structured proposal of controls to increase patient safety in a broader context. Please specify those already implemented and those you suggest. It is important you explain the improvements controls proposed by you would offer.
