Non Fiction writing

Assignment: You are to go outside, watch an event, write what you observed. You should tell only what happened, not include yourself in the action, but to simply watch someone, a group of (2-3) people, or a group of insects (for example, a colony of ants) doing an action of some kind. Be sure to focus on the physical activity and on how the people are doing it. What are they doing? Are they lifting something? Building something? Creating something? Cooking something? Making something? write about the action.

Go outside!
Write only what you observe. Be careful not to interpret what is going on, but instead just simply write what you see.
Write the story as an observer and not participant in the scene.
Don’t try to describe how people feel or what they may think about what they are doing. Simply write about what you can see and hear.
Do not write a scene for a novel, short story or film.
Do not include too many players (1-3 people at the max.)
Do not use the personal pronoun “I”. Do not include yourself in the story.
Start each sentence with a noun followed by a verb, and then an object.
Use correct conventions of writing (paragraphs, punctuation, spelling, grammar).
Word count: 200.
Assignment is written in Times New Roman 12pt double-spaced.
