Non profit Organization – Child Abuse and its Prevention
Students will research primary materials that address a particular issue in the historical development of their field of interest, and present a 5 minute PowerPoint presentation accompanied by an annotated bibliography of primary sources, describing their context and relevance to the issue at hand. A minimum of 5 primary sources are required. Your resource list must be approved by the professor.
The annotated bibliography will include a full citation of each source using Chicago Manual of Style format, followed by:
A brief summary of the content of the source,
A description of the context of the source (Who wrote it? Why? For what audience? Was it effective?), and
An explanation of why you chose this source and its relevance to your research.
A minimum of 5 primary sources are required. Your resource list must be approved by the professor. We will go over the assignment and some examples in class. For other examples of annotated bibliographies, see the Purdue Writing Lab: https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/general_writing/common_writing_assignments/annotated_bibliographies/annotated_bibliography_samples.html (Links to an external site.)
