Optics of the Eye

Make sure to include topics that are related to what we’re learning in the optics course — for example, show in some detail how the refraction equation is used to determine the path of light inside the eye for a distant source of light. Include explanations of what it means to be near-sighted or far-sighted, using equations and diagrams. Explain how eyeglasses correct for these two types of deficiencies. Also explain how and why people generally lose their ability to focus on nearby things as they get older, and the correction for this. There are various ways to diagnose the optical properties and deficiencies of the eye, and you could explain some of them (again, making contact with a quantitative treatment based on what we’ve been learning in the course.)
