Assignment:

Create a presentation addressing all of the following topics:

1.- Metabolic syndrome is a growing issue in the United States. Much of this is attributed to a sedentary lifestyle and poor diet choices. Discuss the pharmacologic treatment of at least five physiologic changes due to metabolic syndrome. How do these treatments work, and what are their risks and benefits?
2.- Locate one scholarly article discussing the impact of genetics on at least one pharmaceutical treatment. Summarize the article and compare its recommendations to current practice.
Many well-intending patients keep their leftover medication, in case someone needs it in the future. There are a number of reasons why they may have leftover medication. Discuss some of the dangers involved in this practice and how a community or public health nurse can educate the public about these dangers.
This PowerPoint® (Microsoft Office) or Impress® (Open Office) presentation should be a minimum of 20 slides (maximum of 30 slides), including a title, introduction, conclusion and reference slide, with detailed speaker notes and recorded audio comments for all content slides. Use the audio recording feature with the presentation software. Use at least four scholarly sources and make certain to review the module’s rubric before starting your presentation.
