Sexism and racism that leads to power imbalances
1970 Detroit Geographic Expedition and Institute released maple titled “Where Commuters Run Over Black Children on the Pointes-Downtown Track”
Shows where black children were killed
One single corner 6 black children were killed by white drivers over a course of 6 months
No one was keeping records of these deaths or making them publicly available
Only collected because of collaboration of urban Black youth led by Gwen dolyn Warren and white male academic geographers
