Scenario
All projects are evaluated for effectiveness. Criteria are identified that a project must meet in order to be considered successful. An obvious one that just about all projects must meet is financial viability. There are typically several more for any given project. In this activity, you are to assess a real project and identify whether or not it met the established criteria that signified success. You will also consider contingency planning for the project.

Review the Boston Big Dig project as provided in the above link. Conduct research and find two or more additional articles to learn more about the evaluation criteria used for the project and for any contingency planning that was made. Next, address the following issues in an essay of 500-600 words:
• Very briefly summarize the Boston Big Dig project.
• Analyze and identify the criteria used to evaluate the project.
o Do you feel that each criterion was appropriate to determine the project’s success? Support your opinions with research.
• What criteria were missing? Recommend what they should have added to their evaluation? Support your recommendations with research.
• Identify and evaluate any contingency planning that was created.
o Did a contingency plan need to be used? If yes, specifically what was it and was it effective? If no, why not?
