Project Benefits Management Plan Assignment: Each student will be required to develop a project benefits management plan for the project topic they have selected as their final research paper. The benefits management plan developed is then utilized to further develop the project charter on the final assignment.

Details on the components of a Project Benefit Management Plan could be found on the PMBOK, page 33.

(G) PROJECT CHARTER RESEARCH PAPER & PRESENTATION On the topic selected, students are required to do literature research and develop a project charter. The research must contain at least eight references, four of which must be from published articles, journals, peer reviews, or books. The project charter could be created from a project that already exists (i.e.: KCMO Airport Project) or a new potential project (i.e.: Installing Security Cameras in Your Residence).

Please make sure you understand the expectations for the research paper assignment. It is more than just a report on information that you were able to find relative to your topic. You are expected to analyze the information that you have read and draw some of your own conclusions or observations regarding the topic. Finally, the project charter should allow you to wrap up your research into a workable project document. The final research paper will be due by noon on the last day of class and should be 8–10 double spaced pages.
