What the project is about
SCOPE STATEMENT:
The purpose of this project is to create a 501c3 non-profit organization for Fly Fishing Therapy, bringing therapeutic hobbies to those at the rehabilitation centers or rehabs.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Create a new NPO for fly fishing, find investors to help supply for equipment, materials and transportation. We are going to find new partners with rehab centers or sober living environments to bring this new therapy to them. Because fly fishing is somewhat an expensive sport, not many people try it out. Our project is a great way to bring this activity to those who can afford it and are seeking treatment for addictions.
We plan to have volunteer guides helping participants learn the foundations of fly fishing, while working with rehab facilities to create a safe environment for their patients. We will have a 100% no drug policy and no visitor policy, to ensure a safe and successful outcome.
There are over 21 million people in the United States that suffer from drug and alcohol addiction. There are only around 16,000 drug rehabilitation or therapeutic centers.
Fly fishing is a great way to find oneself being alone with your own thoughts. This is a selfish sport and gives you a lot of time to think and reflect. Fly fishing will teach patience at the most difficult times. Taking this to rehabilitation centers or sober living units will be a great way to help save someone’s life.
