Reading and Writing Notebook Final Synthesis
In this paper you must synthesize what you have read, what we have done in class and class discussions AND what you have witnessed in your school based hours (also taking the LAFS into consideration). All of these areas need to be combined in a cohesive way that demonstrates you have a firm understanding of: 1) phonics, (can skip phonemic awareness) 2) Fluency, 3) Comprehension, 4) vocabulary and 4) speaking and listening. It will be helpful for you to review powerpoints and your textbook as well. This paper needs to be very specific using examples and citations (APA) where appropriate. This paper is a UCC assignment and I grade it very carefully looking for all the components just mentioned. If you would like to work on a rough draft and send it to me ahead of time, I would love to help you and let you know if you are headed in the right direction.
The paper is graded on content (inclusion of sufficient material for each of all areas); voice (your ability to synthesize this into an individual approach to your future literacy instruction) and conventions (grammar, spelling and punctuation).
**Although you have not spent the full amount of School Based hours in your classrooms, you have spent enough time to have those experiences contribute to this paper. If you do not feel you have “seen it in action” feel free to conduct additional online research or just use the textbook and your college classroom experiences. (cite all sources).
The paper is graded on content (inclusion of sufficient material for each of the four areas); voice (your ability to synthesize this into an individual approach to your future literacy instruction) and conventions (grammar, spelling and punctuation).
