Choose a publicly traded company so it’s easier to find information

Undertake a leadership or management project to better understand employee/managerial issues (such as motivation, leadership, communication, negotiation and decision-making)

Conduct exploratory research to ascertain that sufficient materials are available you’re

your given company/industry/sector.

Write a 2-paragraph summary proposal telling me what you plan to research and why

(how it relates to the coursework), along with what information is available on this topic.

Some ideas for research topics:

Study the impact of morale and motivation of employees that are part of companies that just merged

The impact of trust as studied by an examination of today’s best leaders

A review of current thought-leaders’ ideas in the field of leadership

How are effective leadership behaviors/styles different based on organizational

structure? What should your manager know about effectively communicating in that culture?

How should managers make decisions in a new environment like a start up? What is expected? What works? What doesn’t?

Google has some studies on what makes a productive team.

Study the role of humor at work and what it impacts and how/why

Provide a lesson to the class on lean six sigma and why it’s important in efficient management

How does the length of time a CEO is in their role impact the organization and why/how can you examine this, under what lenses?

Proposals due are a 1 page summary (2-3 paragraphs)
