Researched Argument Proposal

Great research papers begin with thoughtful research questions, especially if you choose Prompt A where you will have to create your own prompt and answer it in the form of a thesis statement. Your topic should be narrow enough to be answered while, at the same time, contributing to a broader historical topic. For instance, a project on gun control law in the United States would be too broad to research effectively. However, a paper examining the relationship between nationalistic identity and the second amendment has shaped the ways in which Americans view guns as both a boon and bane. Thus, these conflicting notions have muddled the US socio-political landscape, which in turn has greatly influenced how the government has implemented regulations on firearms across the country.

Create an annotated bibliography of approximately 2 sources that will help you answer your question. This should include primary and secondary as well as popular and academic sources. You are welcome to use books and other resources from this class.
