What do Marx, Weber and Durkheim understand by the “division of labor”? What is its significance in their sociological theories?’

How do Marx, Weber, and Durkheim see the task of sociology and what it means to be a sociologist. Compare and contrast their views on methodology.

Compare and contrast Mead, DuBois, and De Beauvior on the processes by which society make the Self, and the Self makes society.

How would Marx/Weber/Durkheim/the Self and Society tradition understand the issue documented in the film? What sort of problem would it be for them? How would the thinkers explain the issue raised? You can only use one thinker if you wish, but a better idea is to try to repeat the previous step with one or more thinker. A very good essay then would develop different ways of looking at the same social issue, based on Marx, Weber, Durkheim, and the Self and Society tradition.
