Stakeholder Presentation

For this assessment you will create an 8-12 slide PowerPoint presentation for one or more stakeholder or leadership groups to generate interest and buy-in for the plan proposal you developed for the third assessment.

As a current or future nurse leader, you may be called upon to present to stakeholders and leadership about projects that you have been involved in or wish to implement. The ability to communicate a plan—and potential implications of not pursuing such a plan—to stakeholders effectively can be critically important in creating awareness and buy-in, as well as building your personal and professional brand in your organization. It is equally important that you know how to create compelling presentations for others’ delivery and ensure that they convey the same content you would deliver if you were the presenter.

Stakeholder Presentation
Professional Context

This assessment will provide you with an opportunity to sharpen your ability to create a professional presentation to stakeholders. In this presentation, you will explain the Plan-Do-Study-Act cycle and how it can be used to introduce the plan (P), implement the plan (D), study the effectiveness of the plan (S), and act on what is learned (A) to drive continuous improvement. By using this cycle, the stakeholders will have a tool and a proposal to expand on these ideas to drive workplace change and create improved processes to solve an interprofessional collaboration problem.

Scenario

In addition to summarizing the key points of Assessments 2 and 3, you will provide stakeholders and/or leadership with an overview of project specifics as well as how success would be evaluated—you will essentially be presenting a discussion of the Plan, Do, and Study parts of the PDSA cycle. Again, you will not be expected to execute the project, so you will not have any results to study. However, by carefully examining the ways in which your plan could be carried out and evaluated, you will get some of the experience of the thinking required for PDSA.

When creating your PowerPoint for this assessment, it is important to keep in mind the target audience: your interviewee’s organizational leadership. The overall goal of this assessment is to create a presentation that your interviewee could potentially give in his or her organization.

Instructions

Be sure that your plan addresses the following, which corresponds to the grading criteria in the scoring guide. Please study the scoring guide carefully so you understand what is needed for a distinguished score.

Explain an organizational or patient issue for which a collaborative interdisciplinary team approach would help achieve a specific improvement goal.
Summarize an evidence-based interdisciplinary plan to address an organizational or patient issue.
Explain how the interdisciplinary plan could be implemented and how the human and financial resources would be managed.
Propose evidence-based criteria that could be used to evaluate the degree to which the project was successful in achieving the improvement goal.
Communicate the PowerPoint presentation of the interdisciplinary improvement plan to stakeholders in a professional manner, with writing that is clear, logically organized, and respectful with correct grammar and spelling using current APA style.

There are various ways to structure your presentation; following is one example:

Part 1: Organizational or Patient Issue.
What is the issue that you are trying to solve or improve?
Why should the audience care about solving it?
Part 2: Relevance of an Interdisciplinary Team Approach.
Why is using an interdisciplinary team relevant, or the best approach, to addressing the issue?
How will it help to achieve improved outcomes or reach a goal?
Part 3: Interdisciplinary Plan Summary.
What is the objective?
How likely is it to work?
What will the interdisciplinary team do?
Part 4: Implementation and Resource Management.
How could the plan be implemented to ensure effective use of resources?
How could the plan be managed to ensure that resources were not wasted?
How does the plan justify the resource expenditure?
Part 5: Evaluation.
What would a successful outcome of the project look like?
What are the criteria that could be used to measure that success?
How could this be used to show the degree of success?

Again, keep in mind that your audience for this presentation is a specific group (or groups) at your interviewee’s organization and tailor your language and messaging accordingly. Remember, also, that another person will ultimately be giving the presentation. Include thorough speaker’s notes that flesh out the bullet points on each slide.

Additional Requirements
Number of slides: Plan on using one or two slides for each part of your presentation as needed, so the content of your presentation will be 8–12 slides in length. Remember that slides should contain concise talking points, and you will use presenter’s notes to go into detail. Be sure to include a reference slide as the last slide of your presentation.
Number of references: Cite a minimum of 3 sources of scholarly or professional evidence that support your central ideas. Resources should be no more than five years old.
APA formatting: Make sure that in-text citations on your slides and in your notes pages and reference slide reflect current APA Style and Format.

THIS IS THE THIRD ASSIGNMENT.

In the Interview and Interdisciplinary Issue Identification, we discussed the vital issue as disparities between many medical institutions and the lack of medical administration, phlebotomy, foley catheters, insertion of IVs, and patient education services; an interview with Justus, pediatrics registered nurse of the Madison Medical Centre. This essay aims to layout a perfect objective for my strategic interdisciplinary measures towards the identified issue.

First, we begin by looking at a budget plan. We will complete the budget plan for nurses’ activities, checking on financial resource management. The plan includes reports on budgets and operating budget expenses, including the personnel expenses and expenses that are non-personal. This can be represented in a pie table as indicated below;

Stakeholder Presentation

Competency 1: Strategies for managing financial and human resources to promote organizational health.

The first is using human resources. Any company’s human resources department plays an important role in organizational effectiveness. Human resources employees aid in the implementation of innovative business methods in support of organizational effectiveness. Secondly is focusing on growth and education (Kueny et al., 2015). When preparing an action plan to increase the company’s performance, a leader must consider various professionals’ strengths and weaken. Know your talents, strengths, and abilities. Identify their deficiencies or areas of challenge as specialist professionals function as a team. Thirdly is always minding about the customers. National Academies Press notes that management of quality is just as critical as an overall success. Request customers to complete assessments or respond to questions about the services offered.

See the quality of services that consumers want or find the most useful services. The fourth strategy is on giving quality services or products. The active involvement in decision-making processes is essential for the leadership of the organization. Nurses should seek guidance on developing products from experts in various areas of the market. Discuss ways of reducing the time needed to achieve those objectives (Titler, 2008). Lastly is the application and use of technology. Technical resources play a vital role in the effectiveness and productivity of an organization. The expansion of the organization’s productivity requires the use of computers, tablets, or smartphones. They are using tablets to enhance coordination or set up a framework for knowledge sharing in the workplace. For the plan to be successful, a financial budget is required, and organizational resources like personnel, structures, time, and capital. All this contributes to the improvements in the organizations functioning. If the organization provides this lack and miss, the organization is likely to fail to serve and provide the best healthcare.

Competency 2: interdisciplinary collaboration usage to achieve desired systems and patient outcomes.

Interprofessional cooperation takes place when two or more professionals work together to accomplish mutual objectives. It is also used as a way to solve several problems and complicated problems. It allows participants to achieve together what they would not have achieved as single entities (Titler, 2008). Collaboration is a general term for science, clinical practice, and education in the health professions. At the heart of this partnership is that two or more organizations cooperate to deliver the desired and mutual result. There are interrelated areas of study, training, and clinics. The study informs education, which in turn impacts the practice and treatment of patients.

Q2. Describe an objective and predictions for an evidence-based interdisciplinary plan to achieve a specific objective related to improving patient or organizational outcomes.

Evidence-based medical practice for various conditions, including asthma, heart disease, and diabetes, is available. These methods are not necessarily used in the delivery of treatment, and there are several different practices (Titler, 2008). Nursing had a long tradition, pioneered by Florence Nightingale, of using research in practice. If adequate empirical evidence is available, research evidence and professional experience, and patient values can guide the practice.

Competency 3: Ways to incorporate evidence-based practice in an interdisciplinary team.

Evidence-based practice (EBP) is a vital element in ensuring medical care of the highest quality. EBP helps healthcare practitioners to make complex choices in the areas of science, experience, and patient. In introducing EBP in healthcare facilities, institutional leadership plays a key role (Kueny et al., 2015). Nurse Managers (NMs) need contextual help to create an atmosphere that promotes progress through EBP for themselves and their hospital employees. This study aimed to define the perspective of NMs on EBP-related contextual factors and compare them across nursing units.

Competency 4: How to change management theories and leadership strategies can enable interdisciplinary teams to achieve specific organizational goals.

Organizational dynamics and organizational development mechanisms are essential in implementing programs to promote health care. In understanding organizational culture, the theory has a significant contribution. In theory, factors that should concentrate on change can be established (O’Daniel & Rosenstein, 2008). The following article discusses the most critical perspectives for healthcare professionals on selected models of organizational change. It is generally agreed on globally that the capacity building of populations, organizations, and structures is a crucial area for addressing the public health challenges of the 21st century. Resource building of the company is essential. The essence and complexity of initiatives that were placed in place in Nova Scotia, Canada, were decided by leadership, management practices, and sustained funding. The role of a Project Officer with experience was found to include senior managers and encourage collaborative planning.

Q4. Explain a change theory and a leadership strategy, supported by relevant evidence that is most likely to help an interdisciplinary team succeed in collaborating and implementing, or creating buy-in for, the project plan.

For the vision of a changed health care system, strong leadership is needed. As a reliable partner, you are in charge of finding issues and waste areas. Caregivers need to incorporate new research results in the environment for practice and nursing education (O’Daniel & Rosenstein, 2008). In health policy decision-making, nurses should have a voice and be committed to promoting efforts related to healthcare reform (Titler, 2008). The public is not accustomed to seeing healthcare professionals as leaders. Not all nurses start their careers with leadership ideas that continue to define and establish evidence-based changes to treatment in nursing study and practice. The workers should be full partners in healthcare redesign. Caregivers need to develop new relationships with other physicians, corporate owners, philanthropists, elected officers, and the public (Kueny et al., 2015). Leaders who offer instructions and presume that they will not follow them. Change theories also explain how organizations could adjust their policies, procedures, and systems to resolve those issues. Lewin’s theory for reform should best suit the changes in health inequalities in health centers in the United States, as it demands stakeholders’ opinions on this issue.

Competency 5: Apply professional, scholarly, evidence-based communication strategies to impact patient, interdisciplinary team, and systems outcomes.

The promotion of a team-based atmosphere will overcome obstacles. In clinical settings, there is never coordination, cooperation, and teamwork. Social, relational, and organizational systems lead to communication failures (O’Daniel & Rosenstein, 2008). Consequently, many medical professionals are used to poor teamwork and communication due to a culture of lowered expectations. However, according to a study, implementing systems for communication with teams can significantly improve efficiency. Strong communication facilitates cooperation, promotes teamwork, and helps to avoid mistakes.

In conclusion, disparities between many medical organizations are visible and lack adequate services in some healthcare facilities. With the kind of analysis conducted, there have been questions and answers provisions to find ways to develop a budgeting proposal plan for the Nurses and value the management of the financial resources.
