Strategies for Best Practice in Integrating Special Education Within an MTSS Assignments | Custom Assignments Help
For this Discussion, you will review two of the case study videos for Jamal, which were viewed within your previous course. As you reflect on the previous case studies, pay special attention to the behavior concerns expressed by both Jamal’s mother and teachers. As the lead for the intervention planning team at the school, you will lead the team through problem solving to identify 3–5 interventions using an RtI approach to address Jamal’s identified needs.
To prepare
Review the module Learning Resources as they relate to integrating an MTSS. Consider the best approach for school-wide implementation.
Review case study video concerning Jamal. Reflect on both the RtI and PBIS process and the need for additional support in both academics and behavior. Identify appropriate evidence-based behavioral interventions to address Jamal’s needs identified within the program in the case study video.
Post a brief summary including the following:
Three to five evidence-based interventions using a PBIS/RtI approach for the behavior needs cited in the video regarding Jamal. Consider some interventions researched in EDDD 8073. Be sure to specify the intervention as well as the tier in which each intervention should be implemented.
List one additional evidence-based intervention that you would provide Jamal’s mother to implement at home.
Explain how the interventions meet the diverse needs of Jamal and how the interventions will be shared between home and school to make the most impact.
