Sustainable procurement

It might seem employees’ low awareness level towards more sustainability is one of the greatest challenges with many projects. In line with this, there are some research in the literature that argued that purchasers’ direct involvement in training of supplier staff made a strong impact on the accomplishment of environmental and operational performance improvement by the supplier (Simpson and Power, 2005; Krause, Scannell and Calantone, 2000). I’d like to have your thoughts on some of the positive aspects of training the suppliers’ personnel by client towards more sustainable development in procurement and supply management?
