The introduction for a research paper, provides a hook to grab your reader’s attention, as well as background information on your topic. The LAST sentence of your introduction should be your thesis statement!
Write a 1 paragraph introduction below as if you were writing a research paper on the president you’ve chosen to research. Your introduction should be at least 5-7 sentences NOT including your thesis statement. Your introduction should be written in THIRD PERSON POV.

The body of an essay is made up of several body paragraphs that all contain information that support the points outlined in the thesis statement. Each paragraph is unified around one subtopic that supports one of the main ideas stated in the thesis statement.
Each body paragraph should:
Begin with a strong topic sentence- a sentence that expresses the main idea of that paragraph.
Provide support for the thesis statement through use of evidence and analysis.
When switching topics, start a new paragraph, and use a transitional word or phrase to signal to the reader that a topic shift is occurring.
Be written in third person POV
Each new paragraph should be indented 1 tab space.
