EN306: Technical Writing
The group project for this class will ask everyone to conduct usability testing, a mechanism
writers and designers use to get feedback about the effectiveness of products and documents.
Usability testing will help you get firsthand knowledge of what happens when real people use
your documents.
This assignment is designed to help familiarize the class with usability testing.
Requirements:
• The document should draw on at least four credible sources. You may use the sources on
the Resource Pathfinder if you wish; you do not need to limit yourself to those sources.
• At least one source must be chapter 13 of your textbook.
• The document may discuss usability testing of
products and websites, but its primary focus
should be on usability testing of documents.
• Information or images borrowed from outside
sources should should be cited.
