VIRTUAL FIELD TRIP Assignments | Get Paper Help

This week, you’ve been reading about the birth and evolution of several major world religions.

For your assignment, you will take a virtual field trip to view the medieval collections of your choice of an online museum.

Visit the online museum of your choice.
Please restrict your search to Africa and Asia between the years 0–1000 AD.
Produce a two-page reflection assignment (see description below).
For your reflection assignment for this week, please select one primary example from the archive and address the following in a two-page reflection assignment.

Explain how the artifact you chose relates to the origins and spread of religion or culture during the medieval period.
In order to be able to really make a strong statement about what you think your artifact means, please go back to the Week 1 Lesson and review the questions historians ask about artifacts. Then, answer the following questions, using your answers to support your ideas about your artifact.

In an article by Steven Lubar and Kathleen Kendrick from the Smithsonian Center for Education and Teaching Studies, the authors suggest five ways to think about artifacts in history.

Artifacts tell their own stories.
Artifacts connect people.
Artifacts mean many things.
Artifacts capture moments.
Artifacts reflect changes.
“You can look at any object in any or all of these ways….As you consider the artifacts in this web site—or any artifact in museums, or in your daily life—you can ask similar questions. Think like a curator: use the artifacts to understand, explain, and present history” (Lubar & Kendrick, n.d.).

Using Lubar and Kendrick’s five ways to think about history can improve students’ approaches to thinking about and writing about history. When you see an artifact in your research or textbook, transform the above statements into questions.

What story does this artifact tell?
How does this artifact connect people?
What meaning does this artifact have (and can there be more than one)?
What moment does the artist capture with the creation of this artifact?
What change does this artifact reflect?
When students begin to look at history and historical artifacts through the lens of these five questions, especially in relationship to the three questions that most humans seek to answer, it becomes much easier to slip into the mode of a true student of the humanities.

Describe the example you have selected and provide the specific URL and the image.
Explain the origins and context of the example.
Be sure to submit your assignment.

This two-page essay should be submitted in APA format, should avoid plagiarism, and should offer some insight into what you’ve learned!
